A rapidly growing UK solar installation provider delivering over 1,000 installations a year across national contracts, government schemes, and private customers. With nationwide coverage and major new contract wins, the company is expanding and seeking a talented Electrical Operations Manager to support its next phase of growth.
The Role
As Electrical Operations Manager, you’ll lead the solar operations and compliance function, ensuring installations meet the highest standards of quality and regulation.
This is an office-based management role with some travel to sites and partners across the UK.You will work closely with senior electrical leadership to oversee the operations team, coordinate installation activities, manage logistics, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the solar operations and installation coordination team
- Plan and schedule employed and subcontracted installation teams (roofing, electrical, scaffolding, logistics)
- Review installation surveys, completion records, and compliance documentation
- Ensure adherence to MCS, RECC, NICEIC, and UK safety standards
- Manage onboarding and verification of engineer qualifications and documentation
- Coordinate materials and logistics with equipment suppliers
- Implement and monitor van stock control systems
- Oversee cost control and purchase order processes
- Track progress, compliance, and QA using job management software
- Drive continuous improvement across operations and customer experience
About You
You’re an experienced electrical professional with a strong background in solar operations. Organised, technically skilled, and committed to high standards, you can confidently lead a team while maintaining operational excellence.
Essential:
- Electrical qualification (AM2 or Level 3 NVQ)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- Experience managing or supervising solar PV operations
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems
- Familiarity with MCS, RECC, and NICEIC standards
- Strong communication, planning, and leadership abilities
- Experience with job management/CRM software
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in small-scale solar PV installation
- Hands-on solar PV installation experience
