- Description
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Solar Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialise in the installation of solar panel mounting systems, working closely with other roofing and solar professionals to ensure high-quality installations that meet industry accreditations, health and safety regulations, and customer expectations. This role does not include electrical work but requires extensive experience with roofing and structural components.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Structural Work
- Install solar panel mounting systems on various roof types, including pitched and flat roofs.
- Assess roof conditions and prepare surfaces for solar panel installation.
- Perform waterproofing and sealing to protect the integrity of the roof.
- Ensure structural integrity by securely fixing mounting systems to withstand environmental conditions.
- Work collaboratively with electricians and other solar installation team members to ensure a smooth installation process.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow all Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures before commencing work.
- Use fall protection equipment, scaffolding, and PPE correctly at all times.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or structural issues on-site.
- Attend mandatory health and safety training and refresher courses.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Proven experience as a roofer, ideally with solar installation experience.
- Knowledge of different roofing materials and techniques.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations, working at heights, and fall protection systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit with good balance and manual dexterity.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent qualification.
- Working at Heights and Manual Handling certifications are preferred.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
