We are recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Renewables Breakdown Engineer to join a well-established energy services provider. This role suits a reliable professional with strong technical knowledge of renewable heating and hot water systems, who can diagnose complex faults, communicate effectively, and deliver excellent customer service.
Overview of the Role
The Renewables Breakdown Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of renewable energy installations across domestic properties. The role involves providing technical support, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, and working closely with engineering and customer service teams to deliver a high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults within renewable energy heating and hot water systems across the region
- Provide technical support and advice to customers and internal teams
- Deliver high levels of customer care when dealing with residents and tenants
- Communicate job progress clearly and complete required documentation electronically and manually
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH requirements
- Follow stock ordering and auditing procedures to ensure parts availability
Key Requirements & Attributes
- Proven experience working with renewable energy heating and hot water systems (essential)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach
- Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and tenants
- Gas qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and occasional weekend working
- Successful completion of relevant criminal record and reference checks prior to employment
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
- On-call rota and weekend work as required
